Japanese diet

Why the diet is called Japanese is hard to say - half of the foods recommended to eat are exotic for the Japanese.

Japanese diet dish

The experience of my sitting on a diet is such that I would hardly voluntarily resort to this means of self-torture. If not for a "but": I've personally seen the results of two weeks of sitting on a "Japanese" diet. Just like in the magazine: "before" and "after". Still, the principle may work best when it comes to beauty and health.

Why the diet is called Japanese is hard to say - half of the foods recommended to eat are exotic for the Japanese. According to legend, the diet was developed by specialists at the Japanese clinic "Yaeks", but no further traces of this office were found on the English-language Internet.

Textually sentimental digression

I have to say that I admire the courage of people who feel the weight loss recipe found on the net and can try it out for themselves right away. I myself am careful with diets. Life brought me together with them twice.

For the first time - in severe form, when I got an inflammation of my stomach in the mountains and simply couldn't eat anything for three weeks at an altitude of 3000 meters: everything wanted to come back immediately. The second time was when I decided to limit my diet to 1000 calories a day. For almost a month, my diet consisted of morning coffee with ice cream, which is convenient for lunch, and frozen vegetables for dinner. I learned much later that the diet should be balanced.

So the first question I asked was, how balanced is the Japanese diet? "More or less, but there are not enough amino acids, " replied a biochemist friend, "you will be malicious - horror with a weapon". His fears about my hypothetical increased malignancy did not materialize. For the first two days, the body was oppressed by the sudden disappearance of normal food from its life. And when he realized that this was for a long time, but not forever, he became silent and indifferent.

Charm and disappointment

As happens with every experiment on myself, I have compiled a list of stimuli and disappointments. Or rather, the inconvenience and enjoyment of the diet.

Inconvenience # 1

The diet is strict. Because according to its authors, it should change the metabolism. Therefore, the slightest deviation from the course (even a crouton, even an apple) - and the expected effect is not guaranteed. And that is expected: Farewell to 5 - 8 kilograms and weight stabilization in the future.

Inconvenience # 2

It is very difficult to come to a business lunch and ask for me coquettishly, please, two hard-boiled eggs and 200 grams of grated carrots. As a rule, such wishes remain unfulfilled. Therefore, you must carry all supplies in your purse. And, most likely, prepare diet meals the day before.

Pleasant number 1

13 Days of the Japanese Diet will cost you about two times less than a daily business lunch or lunch at work. And even more - buying groceries to take home.

Pleasant number 2

In general, it is better not to start a strict diet if at least half of the foods in it are uncomfortable for you. And since I eat with great enthusiasm in "normal life" and eat fish and boiled beef and carrots and kefir and cabbage, it was honestly a pleasure to see them on my table.

Many people ask questions about drinking coffee every morning - isn't that harmful? If you have heart problems or high blood pressure, coffee can have an adverse effect. And before starting any Japanese diet, it is worth consulting your doctor.

A whole range of sensations

During the first two days of the diet, a vision haunted me: As soon as I closed my eyes, a thinly baked pancake appeared in front of my inner gaze, which spontaneously rolled into a tube. Then someone kindly dipped it in strawberry jam and held it in my face. No olfactory hallucinations occurred. After following me for two days, the pancake fell back.

A stony indifference and serenity towards culinary delights set in, which continues to this day. That does not mean that if I am offered to try something delicious, I will harshly refuse. But the nervous tremors from the fact that "there's so much to eat over there" is no longer observed.

I didn't shed that much - only 4 pounds, but the weight is not gaining any more. I don't know who to thank: the developers of the Japanese diet or myself - for doing exercise twice a week. The only detail: During the diet you become noticeably weaker and towards the end it becomes problematic to open an unopened bottle of mineral water. But then the strength is quickly restored.
